Our new Woodmizer Shed Roof features a 28 foot span to accommodate easy loading of extra long logs. So we had to use huge 33 foot long logs that we repurposed from Blackfoot Telecoms pole yard. Our longest cut on our mills is 24 feet, so this meant we had to use the log in it’s nearly natural form. Laying out squared joints on round logs requires a level and plenty of string lines, but makes for a fun build! The roof on this shed is designed with a very low slope in order to hold snow, and works perfectly to keep us milling slabs instead of shoveling snow falling off the roof.
